The Science
No CO₂. No canister.
No compromises.
DART runs on solid-state effervescent chemistry — the same pharmaceutical tableting technology used in medicine. Safe enough to ship anywhere. Powerful enough to inflate in 3–5 seconds.
Why every other inflatable gets it wrong.
Bulky by design.
A round metal CO₂ cylinder forces every competitor into a thick, boxy form factor. You can't make an 11mm device around a metal canister. The physics won't allow it.
Hazardous cargo.
CO₂ cartridges are classified as pressurized hazardous goods. They can't be air-freighted without special handling. DART Cartridges ship as standard mail globally — UN 3363 exempt.
Freeze risk.
Rapidly expanding CO₂ freezes the canister on contact — cold enough to cause skin burns. DART's reaction is water-buffered and safe to touch throughout deployment.
The Solid-State Engine
A pharmaceutical-grade tablet engineered to explode — not dissolve.
The formula
Anhydrous citric acid and sodium bicarbonate in a precise 1:3 ratio. We pack 25–28g of fuel — 140% of what's theoretically required — to account for depth pressure underwater via the Ideal Gas Law.
The honeycomb press
The tablet is pressed to only 80% density, leaving microscopic interstitial channels throughout the structure. This isn't decorative — it's engineering. The void channels are what make instant dissolution possible.
The superdisintegrant
A trace amount (<1%) of pharmaceutical-grade Crospovidone is embedded in the tablet. The moment water contacts it, it swells and physically shatters the tablet from the inside out — not layer by layer, but all at once.
The ram air effect
As gas production begins, it rises into the bladder creating a vacuum at the base that actively pulls more water through the 360° gill vents. The reaction turbulently stirs itself — guaranteeing complete dissolution in 3–5 seconds.
Engineered to a precise specification.
Fuel payload (140% of theoretical minimum)
Tablet density — 20% void channels
Crospovidone superdisintegrant
CO₂ output at surface pressure
Lift force generated
Full deployment time
UN 3363 exempt. Ships anywhere.
What UN 3363 means.
UN 3363 covers dangerous goods in machinery or apparatus. Because DART's chemical payload is solid-state, under 25g per component, and separated from water during transport, it qualifies for exemption from hazardous goods classification. DART Cartridges can be shipped via standard air freight, standard mail, and carried on commercial aircraft without restriction.
What this means for your business.
No special handling fees. No freight surcharges. No restricted shipping zones. A family can order Reload Cartridges on Amazon Prime and receive them the next day. A resort can restock via standard courier. Compare that to CO₂ — which requires hazmat handling and cannot be air-freighted to international destinations.
The torpedo.
16 inches. 4 inches diameter. Vacuum-compressed to fit inside an 11mm device.
210D Nylon + rTPU
Military-grade nylon with recycled thermoplastic polyurethane coating. Puncture resistant. Salt water safe. Tested for full deployment integrity.
Vacuum-brick packing
Industrial vacuum compression folds the bladder into a rigid brick that fits perfectly inside the Cartridge base. The same factory machine packs it every time — eliminating human error entirely.
Free-spinning swivel tether
A 12-inch flat woven ribbon — not round rope — connects the bladder to the Band via a free-spinning swivel. Flat ribbon cannot knot. The swivel prevents twist even if the swimmer is thrashing or spinning.
