DART Co. was founded on a single, radical belief: the most effective safety device is the one you forget you have on — until the moment you need it.
Why We Exist
The fight at the poolside has to end.
Every summer, the same scene plays out at pools and beaches around the world. A parent reaches for a life jacket. A child refuses. The parent gives up. The child swims unprotected. It's not negligence — it's human nature. Bulky, uncomfortable, uncool safety gear gets left on the hook every single time.
We looked at the data. Drowning is the number one killer of children ages 1–4 in the United States. Not accidents. Not illness. Water. And in 88% of child drownings, at least one adult was present. This isn't a supervision problem. It's a compliance problem. The safety gear exists. Nobody wears it.
So we asked a different question: What if safety gear looked less like medical equipment and more like the future? What if it was 11mm thin, Fitbit-style, and factory-sealed? What if deployment required nothing more than a single instinctive pull — no buttons, no instructions, no user error? That question became DART.

Kristy Murphy founded DART Co. after identifying a critical gap in the water safety market: a category defined by poor compliance, user error risk, and products that prioritize certification over wearability.
DART is the result of that obsession — a modular, wearable swim assist device built on solid-state effervescent chemistry, a Nespresso-style consumables model, and an uncompromising belief that safety should be something people choose to wear, not something they're forced to.

What we believe.
Safety as fashion.
If it reads medical equipment, we redesign it. Kids should beg for it. Parents should be proud to put it on their child's wrist.
Factory-sealed, always.
User repacking is how people get hurt. Every DART Cartridge is factory-sealed and vacuum-packed. The safety chain resets to 100% with every reload.
The ocean gave us the plastic.
DART Shells are molded from OceanCycle® certified recycled fishing nets — ghost nets that kill marine life, transformed into the device that saves lives.
11mm or nothing.
The 11mm profile is non-negotiable. If it doesn't fit on a wrist like a fitness tracker, it doesn't ship. Wearability is safety.
