DART ACHIEVES LEVEL 1 USA SWIMMING CERTIFICATION

Dixie Aquatic Racing Team (DART) is pleased to announce today Jan 22nd 2010, that they have achieved the  USA Swimming Level 1 Club Recognition.   DART is the second swim team in the State of Utah to have received USA Swimming club recognition behind Cottonwood Heights Aquatic Team (CHAT).

As a USA swimming club, DART has worked diligently over the past year; from a board level to the coaching staff and swimmers to achieve the National Level 1 USA Swimming certification.  Level 1 certification indicates not only DART's, but the community of St. George's commitment to the sport of year round competitive swimming.   There are four main categories a team must prove competency in to USA swimming to achieve Level 1 Certification.  These categories include:  Business & Organizational Success, Parent & Volunteer Development, Coach Development & Education, and Athlete Development & Performance.  Part of the Athlete Development and Performance include swimmers achieving results at USA Sanctioned meets.  DART swimmers currently hold many top 10 state rankings in Utah.  Among many top 10 placements from DART, some of note include Michael Pantelakis #1 and #3 respectively in the state of Utah in the 1,650, and 500 Freestyle,  John McPhie #2 in the State in the 200 Backstroke, Mitchell Hutchings 5th in the 400 IM, and Josh McPhie #7 in the 200 IM.  These swimming achievements, from many of the DART swimmers, along with other milestones the team has made as an organization allowed USA swimming to conduct a thorough evaluation of the entire DART swim program and found them in compliance of a Level 1 certified program.  If you happen to see a DART swimmer, coach or board member; you are encouraged to congratulate them on this tremendous accomplishment.
