You can almost be guaranteed that not many kids in Southern Utah
spent their holiday break swimming nearly 44 miles in less than one
week of two a day swim practices. Known as Survivor Week, the
DART Sharks whose home is at the Sand Hollow Aquatic Center in St.
George Utah, did just that, including a 7:00 a.m. 3 1/2 hour
practice New Years morning. To top it off head swim coach Bob
Floerchinger added additional drag to the swimmers during their
workouts by having each of them wear tights. The swimmers had
a great time with the tights which was capped off by a crazy tights
contest. Many awards were given, as Sydney Zwick took top
honors of being brave enough to wear the craziest tights in the
water. Three of the DART Swimmers earned the right to be
crowned survivors: Michael Pantelakis, Josh McPhie, and John
McPhie made all the sets and challenges to earn the rightful title
of "Survivor".
If you find yourself around the pool you should congratulate the
swimmers for a job well done.
